BAE Systems ex-dividend date: how the dividend timetable works and where to check it

BAE Systems' next ex-dividend date is 22 October 2026, for an interim dividend of 15.0p per share paid on 2 December 2026. The company pays twice a year, and its own results announcements and dividend timetable set every date.

By MarketFrame · Published 16 October 2026 · Updated 16 October 2026

Short answer: if you want the 15.0p interim dividend, you need to own BAE Systems shares before 22 October 2026. From that day the shares trade without the right to it. The company takes its list of shareholders on 23 October and pays on 2 December. Each of BAE's two yearly dividends has its own set of three dates, so there are six to track.

The short answer: BAE Systems' two dividend dates each year

BAE Systems pays an interim dividend and a final dividend each year.

That is the 2026 pattern from BAE's own timetable. Treat it as a guide to future years and check each new announcement, because the company can change its dates.

The latest interim and final dividend dates, from BAE's own announcements

BAE published a dividend timetable on 18 February 2026, the same day as its 2025 full-year results. It set out these dates:

In both cases the record date falls one day after the ex-dividend date, and payment comes about six weeks after that.

What ex-dividend, record and payment dates mean, in order

Our guide to dividends on stocks covers these terms in full, including the London Stock Exchange's timetable rules. Here they are applied to BAE's interim dividend:

  1. Announcement (30 July 2026). The board declares the amount and confirms the timetable.
  2. Ex-dividend date (22 October 2026). This is the first day the shares trade without the right to the 15.0p. Buy on or after this day and the seller receives the dividend.
  3. Record date (23 October 2026). BAE takes the list of shareholders on its register who will be paid. It comes one business day after the ex-dividend date because share trades take time to settle. The guide linked above explains how that gap works and how it changes when UK settlement moves to a shorter cycle in 2027.
  4. Payment date (2 December 2026). The dividend is paid to the shareholders on that list.

The final dividend has one extra step. It is only a recommendation until shareholders vote on it at the AGM. That is why BAE describes it as "subject to shareholder approval" when it first announces it.

Where BAE Systems publishes its dividend dates

Check these in order:

  1. The dividend timetable announcement. BAE issued a short notice with the provisional dates for both of the year's dividends on 18 February 2026. It is the clearest single list.
  2. The results announcements. The full-year and half-year releases state the dividend amount, and usually the payment and record dates, in the text.
  3. BAE's investor relations site. The half-year release tells readers to find the full report and presentation slides on investors.baesystems.com.

BAE issues these announcements through RNS, the London Stock Exchange's news service. The FCA has approved RNS as a Primary Information Provider, so the RNS text is the company's official word. Many news and data sites republish RNS notices word for word. Republished copies are fine to read, as long as the text is the original announcement and not a summary of it.

Why a price-data site date can differ from the announcement

While checking this guide we found data-site listings for BAE that gave different April and June dates from the ones in BAE's timetable. Some common reasons:

When two sources disagree, go back to the company's own announcement. Our guide to Lloyds dividend dates shows the same check on a bank's timetable.

Shareholders outside the main register: ADRs and dividend reinvestment

The dates above are for BAE's ordinary shares held on its main register. If you hold through a nominee account, a depositary receipt or a dividend reinvestment arrangement, the dates and mechanics that apply to you are set by whoever runs that arrangement. Check with them before relying on the dates here. We have not set out BAE-specific terms for these arrangements, because we could not confirm them from a primary source.

For how reinvestment works in general, see our dividend reinvestment plans guide.

How to follow BAE Systems dividend news on MarketFrame

The BAE Systems news history on MarketFrame shows each day's UK business coverage of the company, with every relevant headline and a tone score. The scale runs from -10, clearly bad news for the company, to +10, clearly good news. The aerospace and defence page shows the sector as a whole. The archive starts on 30 September 2026 and is free to read. Accounts and alerts are not open yet.

News tone is not a share-price forecast. A dividend headline might score well because the payment went up, but that score tells you about the coverage. It gives no signal about the share price, and nothing on this page is a view on buying, selling or holding BAE Systems shares.

Questions

The common questions about BAE's dividend timetable are answered below.

Questions people ask

When is the next BAE Systems ex-dividend date?

22 October 2026, for the 15.0p interim dividend. The record date is 23 October 2026 and payment is due on 2 December 2026. BAE gave these dates in its 18 February 2026 dividend timetable, which called the interim dates indicative. The half-year results on 30 July 2026 then confirmed the amount and the payment date.

What is the difference between the ex-dividend date and the record date?

The ex-dividend date is the first day the shares trade without the right to the upcoming dividend, so a buyer on or after that day does not receive it. The record date is the day the company takes the list of shareholders it will pay. For both BAE dividends in 2026 the record date is the day after the ex-dividend date.

How often does BAE Systems pay a dividend?

Twice a year. The board declares an interim dividend with the half-year results. It recommends a final dividend with the full-year results, and shareholders then vote on that final dividend at the annual general meeting.

Where does BAE Systems publish its dividend dates officially?

In its regulatory announcements: the full-year and half-year results and a separate dividend timetable, all issued through RNS, the London Stock Exchange's news service. BAE's results releases also point readers to investors.baesystems.com for the report and presentation.

Does a positive news tone around a dividend mean the shares will rise?

No. MarketFrame's tone score describes how good or bad the news coverage is for a company. News tone is not a share-price forecast, and this page gives no view on buying, selling or holding BAE Systems shares.
